Moderation Vs Diet

There are tons of people across the globe who are on a little thing called “diet.” Diets may or may not be good for you depending on the person’s situation. People on diets can find themselves lacking in certain nutrients found in foods they’re cutting out. People dieting will also find themselves going nuts because they are depriving themselves from sugars and sweets, a.k.a their favorite junk foods. So, let’s be real. Is dieting really the way to go? Don’t you think there is a way to live a healthy lifestyle while still being able to enjoy your favorite junk food? Let’s just see shall we.

“Moderation,” this is a word we don’t pay attention to when it comes down to our health. If we know our weight and hearts are in trouble we immediately resort to the “diet” factor rather then thinking moderation. We should observe the types of foods and the amount of those foods we are consuming in our everyday life and learn to eat within reason. Our grocery stores are full of processed foods and unhealthy snacks that we need to be aware of and know how to properly consume. This doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy our favorite cookie or brownie on occasion.

The thing people need to understand is their personal body build and chemistry. We all need to consume certain amounts of calories and certain amounts of foods with the vitamins and minerals we need to thrive properly. It is important to consider age, height, gender, daily activity, body size, and body mass. If we just understand how to eat healthy foods while maintaining a healthy weight, we can then enjoy an amazing Yolo meal once a week.

The best example I can think of that really supports what I’m saying is Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers allows you to eat healthy while still enjoying your favorite foods. I hope there is a clearer understanding of moderation vs diet. If you’re considering a diet think about what you might still be missing from your diet and look at your daily food consumption. Look at how you are preparing your foods and check to see if there’s a healthier way to prepare it.
